Seven of these motives are motif rekong (rekong motive), motif bunga terong (flower of eggplant motive), motif ketam (ketam motive), motif kelingai, motif buah andu, motif buah ngkabakng and motif bunga terung keliling pinggang. They are have an specific sense.
He (Edy) explain that rekong motive tattoo usualy used in neck. in Iban, someone who have rekong motive tattoo is someone who have an status in society, as like as 'timanggong' (title of regent), and commander or someone who have hight position.
Rekong motive designs are variety based on humanity position. Moreover, between sub etnic of dayak have diferent tattoo motive, but have same of sense. Rekong motive might be form of buterfly wing, scorpion and crab. esence of that form is to tent to animals.
Dayak society whom have rekong motive tattoo in neck usualy "dayak kayan, dayak taman, and dayak iban". Meanwhile the society of ordinary dayak whom have rekong motive tattoo in neck will got a sanction or traditional penalties, but now this sanction is not again implemented because some of people sense it as an art.
Other motive is eggplant flower motive. Eggplant flower is a pride of iban society. "Eggplant flower has risen, that man has become profesional." this sentence often spoken by iban society. because eggplant is a pride of them. Eggplant also give an sense of rank, because it main possition is placed in shoulder.
Form of eggplant motive is variety and possitin in body is disparate. some of placed in arm, in hand, in calf or in belly. Eggplant flower tattoo motive have six wings or eight of wings. Some iban who have eggplant flower tattoo around his waist (usualy 8 piece of eggplant flower), it mean is that man contented on wander about.
Kelingai motive epitomize animal there in soil hole give mean that our live never asiade from nature or ground. Kelingai tattoo motive usualy placed in thigh or calf.
Ketam motive alse give mean of live is always continguous with nature. Although, ketam motive tattoo usualy placed in hump area.
Whereas andu fruit and ngkabang flower motive epitomize fountain. Ngkabang flower tattoo motive is very numerous in iban society home and it's placed up of belly.
